Idea Gallery Round-Up: March 2016

It’s hard to believe, but we are well into 2016 and we couldn’t be more thrilled with all the exceptional looks thus far. With warm weather quickly approaching we are seeing the change from fall hues to bold, vibrant summer shades that wow us. There is always something for everyone and if you recreate a look be sure and let the artist know.  😉

SATELLITE ON PEACOCK BY GLAMDIVA.PL

One of our most beloved shades makes a bold comeback in this exotic pairing of warm and cool tones.

Products Used: Makeup Geek Eye Shadows in Baby Face, Cocoa Bear, Corrupt, Peacock, Makeup Geek Foiled Shadow in Pegasus, Makeup Geek Gel Liner in Immortal, Makeup Geek Sparkler in Satellite

  • Sweep Baby Face all over the eye. This will serve as your transition shade.
  • Pat Peacock on the inner and outer 1/3 of the lower lid coming up past the crease. Leave a small amount of the inner lid black.
  • Connect the inner and outer lower lid by sweeping Peacock through the crease.
  • Smudge Peacock under the eye coming in to where your lashes begin.
  • Darken the outer v of the eye with Corrupt and use a small detail brush to add the same black to the lower lash line keeping the color close to the lashes.
  • Go back in and buff Cocoa Bear through the crease blending the color upward.
  • Use a small fluffy brush and smoke out the lower lash line with Cocoa Bear.
  • Use a flat, stiff brush and pat Satellite on the center of the lid. (You can use a glitter adhesive if you feel it’s needed.)
  • Pat Pegasus on the inner corner of the eye bringing the color onto the inner corner of the lid and lower lash line until it meets the other shades.
  • Line the upper and lower waterlines with Immortal.
  • Complete the look by adding a set of your favorite lashes and a soft peachy/pink lip.

Craving some spring color? This look is ideal for ushering in warmer weather and getting your ready for all the fun, colorful looks coming your way.

Products Used: Makeup Geek Blush in Spell Bound, Makeup Geek Duochrome Shadow in Secret GardenTyphoon, Makeup Geek Eye Shadow in Pixie Dust

Other Products Needed: Makeup Geek Eye Shadow in Mocha

  • Place a piece of scotch tape along the outer edge of the eye, this will help create that crisp line at the edge. (You can also use a pointed cotton bud and makeup remover just make sure to do your eyes first.)
  • Buff Spell Bound in the crease as this makes an ideal transition shade.
  • Go in with Mocha and buff into the crease to add depth.
  • Without picking up any extra product, go in with the brush you used for Spellbound and buff out any harsh lines from the Mocha.
  • Use a small flat, stiff brush and pat Secret Garden on the lower lid staying below the crease.
  • Very carefully remove the tape from the edge of your eye.
  • Smudge Typhoon under the eye and smoke the color out.
  • Wipe off your brush and smoke Pixie Dust on the top of Typhoon.
  • Place Pixie Dust on the inner corner of the eye and pat over the center of the lower lid.
  • Add a set lashes and with so much color on the eyes, pairing this with a nude of soft shade on the lips would be ideal.

TEAL HALO SMOKEY EYE BY PAULING ALAIEV

Bold colors are back! Accented with a hint of teal, this is perfect for the spring.

Products Used: Makeup Geek Eye Shadows in Barcelona Beach, Corrupt, Mocha, Shore Thing, Time Travel, Makeup Geek Full Spectrum Liner Pencils in Mint, Obsidian

Other Products Needed: Makeup Geek Sparkler in Stargazer

  • Use Barcelona Beach in the crease as your transition shade.
  • With a smaller dome brush, apply Time Travel in the crease using wind shield wiper motions and gently blend upward into the Barcelona Beach.
  • Go back with the brush you used for Barcelona Beach and buff out any harsh lines from in the crease.
  • Place the same teal shade on the inner and outer 1/3 of the eye.
  • Smudge Time Travel on the lower lash line smoking the color out slightly with Barcelona Beach.
  • Darken the outer v of the eye with Corrupt and add to the outer edge of the lower lash line keeping the color close to the lashes.
  • Go in with Mint eye Liner and gently smudge on the center of the lid using our finger to make sure the color blending into the Time Travel.
  • Use a flat, stiff brush and pat Shore Thing over the Mint liner.
  • Add a pop of Stargazer on the inner corner of the eye.
  • Line the upper and lower waterlines with Obsidian and add a set of wispy lashes.

INSOMNIA BY ANAIZ AVALOS

Easy to recreate yet stunning, this dark look adds a pop of glitter that combines perfectly with one of our most cherished duochromes.

Products Used: Makeup Geek Eye Shadows in Americano, Bada Bing, Makeup Geek Pigment in Insomnia

Other Products Need: Makeup Geek Sparkler in Satellite, Makeup Geek Full Spectrum Eye Liner in Cobalt

  • Place Bada Bing on the inner and outer 1/3 of the eye and connect the two ends in the crease.
  • Go in with Americano and buff in the crease buffing the color upward until there are no harsh lines.
  • Pat Insomnia on the center of the lower lid making sure to blend where the color meets the Bada Bing.
  • Smudge Bada Bing on the lower lash line coming in all the way and smoke out with Americano.
  • Add Satellite on the inner 1/2 of the lower lash line as well as the center of the upper lid
  • Line the lower waterline with Cobalt and add a set of soft, dramatic lashes to finish.

PURPLE LOVERS EYES BY LILI001

  • With a fluffy brush, sweep Vintage into the crease coming in all the way and blending the color upward and out.
  • Place the same shade on the outer edge of the eye.
  • Go back in with Masquerade and blend into the crease to add depth.
  • Darken the outer v of the eye with Curfew.
  • Pat Shimma Shimma over the inner part of the lower lid where the purple left off.
  • Wipe off your brush and pat Whimsical over the very center of the lower lid.
  • Add a pop of Shimma Shimma to the inner corner and under the highest
  • Smudge Curfew on the outer 1/2 of the lower lash line and smoke out with Vintage.
  • Line the upper lash line with Immortal creating a dramatic winged edge.
  • Add a set of dramatic lashes for the perfect purple look.

LUCKY TYPHOON BY ROSE HERD

Don’t think dramatic when you think green, these shades combine perfectly for a soft, subtle look that’s perfect for adding some color to your makeup routine.

Products Used: Makeup Geek Duochrome Eye Shadows in Ritzy, Typhoon, Makeup Geek Eye Shadows in Dirty Martini, Preppy

Other Products Needed: Makeup Geek Eye Shadow in Shimma Shimma

  • Pat Dirty Martini over the lower lid coming up slightly past the crease
  • Using Ritzy and a small dome brush, gently feather the color into the crease keeping buffing out the edges but keeping the color concentrated on in the crease.
  • Use a clean brush to gently buff out any lines in the crease using Preppy without brining the color to far up.
  • Pat Typhoon over the center of the lid coming up until it meets the crease.
  • Go back with your clean brush and buff out any lines.
  • Smudge Ritzy on the lower lash line coming in 1/2 of the way.
  • Darken the outer edge of the lower lash line with Dirty Martini.
  • Wipe off your smudge brush and sweep Shimma Shimma on the rest of the lower lash line coming in all the way and adding to the inner corner.
  • Add a touch of Shimma Shimma under the arch of your brow and add set of soft tapered lashes to finish.

SHIMMERY POWDERED BLUE HALO EYE BY LILZ TRUEMAN

Who says dramatic looks have to be complicated. This combines 3 shades for a smoky eye that’s not only easy to recreate but looks amazing.

Other Products Needed: Makeup Geek Gel Liner in Immortal

  • Pat Ocean Breeze on the inner and outer 1/3 of the eye with a small flat brush.
  • Switch to a small dome brush and gently sweep the same shade into the crease buffing upward.
  • Go in with a fluffy brush and blend the color upward and out.
  • Go back and darken the inner and outer 1/3 of the lower lid and the crease buffing out any lines.
  • Smudge the same color under the eye coming in to where your lashes begin.
  • Darken the outer v of the eye with Corrupt as well as the inner 1/3.
  • Use Corrupt to darken the lower lash line keeping the Corrupt close to the lashes.
  • Go back and smoke out the lower lash line with Ocean Breeze if needed.
  • Pat Day Dreamer on the center of the lid making sure to blend where the color meets the Ocean Breeze.
  • Smudge Day Dreamer on the lower lash line where the other colors left off and on the inner corner.
  • Line the upper and lower waterlines with Immortal as well as the upper lash line creating a dramatic winged edge.
  • Lastly, add a set of lashes such as the Ardell Demi Wispies for the finishing touch.

ENCHANTED FUJI BY MARTINE KRISTINE

Soft and elegant with a pop of bold colors, this is ideal for welcoming the warmer weather and adding some pops of bold color.

Products Used: Makeup Geek Eye Shadows in Corrupt, Enchanted Forest, Fuji, Mocha, Shimmermint, Shore Thing, Manny MUA Palette, Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop

  • Sweep Beaches and cream into the crease as your transition shade.
  • Darken the crease with Frappe.
  • Go back in with Beaches and Cream and buff out any lines from the crease area.
  • With a smaller brush, accentuate the crease using Mocha and gently erase any lines in the crease with your fluffy brush.
  • Use a smaller dome brush and Aphrodite to darken the outer edge of the crease. (You can also use Americano or any dark brown.)
  • With your fluffy brush and without picking up any extra products, buff out any lines from the outer corner.
  • Pat Artemis over the inner part of the lower lid. (You can also use Rapunzel, Shimma Shimma or any light shimmery shade.)
  • Darken the outer v of the eye with Corrupt.
  • Smudge Enchanted Forest on the outer edge of the lower lash line.
  • Wipe off your brush and smudge Shore Thing over the next 1/4 of the lower lash line followed by Shimmermint and ending with Fuji.
  • Add a hint of Champagne Pop to the inner corner of the eye.
  • Pair it with a soft pink lip and some fluffy lashes.
  • Warm up the cheeks with a soft pink and Champagne Pop as your highlight.

SMOKY BY EASTER BY JUSTYNA KOLODZIEJ

Combining cool tones with warm tones is the perfect way to amp up your eyes and give them a fresh new look.

Products Used: Makeup Geek Eye Shadows in Bedrock, Bitten, Concrete Jungle, Corrupt, Vanilla Bean, Vintage, Makeup Geek Foiled Shadow in Day Dreamer, Pegasus, Makeup Geek Full Spectrum Liner in Obsidian

  • Buff Bedrock into your crease as your transition and buff upward.
  • Go in with Concrete Jungle and place in the crease.
  • Go back in with Bedrock and buff out any lines.
  • Pat Vintage on the inner and outer 1/3 of the lower lid.
  • Darken the crease using Bitten and buff out any lines.
  • Add a small amount of Concrete Jungle to the inner 1/3 of the eye.
  • Place Vanilla Bean under the brow as your highlight and use to feather out any remaining lines left behind.
  • Smudge Vintage on the outer 1/3 of the lower lash line and smoke out using Bitten.
  • Wipe off your brush and smudge Concrete Jungle on the inner 1/3 of the lower lash line and smoke out with Bedrock.
  • Use a small flat brush to pat Day Dreamer on the center of the upper lid and on the center of the lower lash line.
  • Go in with Pegasus and add a small amount to the very center of the lid.
  • Darken the outer 1/3 of the lower lash line with Corrupt.
  • Line the upper and lower waterlines with Obsidian and add a set of natural lashes.

WARM SULTRY SMOKEY EYE BY SOFIA TORRES

Warm, sultry and exquisite, the name says it all. This versatile look is ideal for a night out with friends, weddings, or anytime you crave a touch of drama.

Products Used: Makeup Geek Eye Shadows in Chickadee, Corrupt, Shimma Shimma

Other Products Needed: Makeup Geek Eye Shadow in Morocco,  Makeup Geek Foiled Shadow in Flame Thrower, Makeup Geek Full Spectrum Liner in Obsidian

  • Begin by placing a piece of scotch tape along the outer edge of your eye to create that crisp edge. (You can also use makeup remover and a cotton but just remember to do your face makeup AFTER your eyes.) 🙂
  • Sweep Chickadee into your crease as your transition blending upward and out.
  • Wipe off your brush and darken the crease with Morocco.
  • Without picking up any extra product, go back in with the brush your used with Chickadee and buff out any lines from the Morocco for a smooth transition.
  • Darken the lower crease of the eye with Corrupt buffing out any harsh edges with the brush your used with Morocco.
  • Pat Flame Thrower on the lower lid staying below the crease colors.
  • Line the upper and lower waterlines with Obsidian and smudge on the lower lash line as well.
  • Go in and buff out the lower lash line for a smoky effect.
  • Smoke out the black liner with Morocco followed by Chickadee.
  • Add a touch of Shimma Shimma to the inner corner of the eye and under the highest point of the brow.
  • To complete this exotic look, add a set of dramatic lashes.

PURPLE LOOK BY JUSTYNA KILODZIEJ

Crave color? Then look no further, this is ideal for our green/hazel eyed babes but is so versatile it will work on every eye and enhance those gorgeous eyes of yours.

Products Used: Makeup Geek Eye Shadows in Carnival, Cherry Cola, Curfew, Wisteria, Day Dreamer

Other Products Needed: Makeup Geek Full Spectrum Liner in Obsidian, Makeup Geek Sparker in Stargazer

  • Sweep Carnival into the crease with a fluffy brush blending upward slightly but keeping most of the color in the crease.
  • Buff out any lines with a touch of Wisteria.
  • Pat Curfew on the inner and outer 1/3 of lid and connecting through the crease.
  • Darken the crease with Cherry Cola and buff any lines with Carnival. (Remember to keep the colors close to the crease, using smaller dome brushes will help with this.)
  • Pat Day Dreamer over the center of the lid and use Wisteria to blend where the two shades meet.
  • Smudge Curfew on the inner and outer 1/3 of the lower lash line and pat Day Dreamer on the center of the lid.
  • Use Wisteria to smoke out the lower lash line.
  • Dust a small amount of Stargazer over the rest of the upper lid and pop a touch in the inner corner.
  • For this look, simply add a set of accent lashes to the outer edge of the eye paired with a bold purple lip.

SECRET GARDEN BY KAROLINA

  • Go back with the brush you used to apply Barcelona Beach and buff out any lines.
  • Pat Secret Garden over the lower lid staying below the crease and buff out any lines in the crease.
  • Darken the crease with Cherry Cola.
  • Line the upper lash line with Immortal creating a dramatic winged edge.
  • Add Shimma Shimma under the brow and blend out.
  • Smudge Cherry Cola on the lower lash line coming in to where your lashes begin and buff out with Bitten.
  • Finish by adding a setoff of very dramatic lashes, here the artist used House of lashes “Starlet”, a peach blush and a peachy nude lip.

  • With a small blufly brush, sweep Sora (or Crème Brulee) through the crease blending upward slightly.
  • Blend out any lines in the crease with Beaches and Cream.
  • Pat Mars from the Manny MUA Palette, or a combination of Bitten and Simply Marlena on the inner and outer 1/3 of the eye.
  • Sweep the same shade through the crease to connect the inner and outer edge of the eye.
  • Go back with the brush you used for Sora and buff out any excess lines.
  • Pat Insomnia on the center of the lower lid making sure to blend where it meets the previous color.
  • Darken the outer v of the eye with Aphrodite or Americano.
  • Smudge the same red under the eye coming in to where your lashes begin.
  • Use a fluffy brush and Beaches and Cream to smoke out the lower lash line.
  • Line the upper lash line with Immortal creating a winged edge.
  • Add a touch of Luna from the palette or Starry Eyed on the lower lash line where the red colors left off and bring into the inner corner as well.
  • Line the lower waterline with our new Mint eyeliner and add a set of tapered lashes for a bold, colorful look.

  • Go in with a small dome brush and place Bada Bing on the outer 1/2 of the eye and bring the color into the outer 1/2 of the crease.
  • Use your blending brush to go back and gently feather out any harsh lines.
  • Smudge Bada Bing on the lower lash line coming in to where your lashes begin.
  • Pat Vanilla Bean on the inner corner of the eye and on the inner part of the lower lash line.
  • Line the upper lash line with Immortal creating a wing and add a set of lashes to top it off.

  • Lastly, add a set of your favorite lashes for a quick and easy look that captivates.

  • Darken the outer v of the eye with Corrupt and gently remove the tape if used.
  • Smudge the same shade on the lower lash line coming in all the way and darken the outer edge of the lower lash line with Corrupt also.
  • Line the upper lash line with Immortal creating a wing.
  • Add A hint of Satellite on the inner corner of the eye and sweep the glitter on the upper and lower lash lines slightly.
  • Finish by add a set of bold lashes for a true work of art.

  • Wipe off your brush and pat Wisteria over the rest of the lower lid.
  • Use a small dome brush and place Curfew on the outer 1/3 of the eye.
  • Darken the outer v of the eye with Motown.
  • Smudge Boo Berry on the lower lash line coming in to where your lashes begin.
  • Darken the outer 1/3 of the lower lash line with Duchess and extend the color into a soft wing at the edge of the eye.
  • Smudge a combination of Fantasy and Pegasus on the inner 1/3 of the lower lash line.
  • Add a touch of Asteroid on the inner 1/3 of the lower lash line.
  • For the finishing touch, the artist applied individual false lashes for a soft, natural look.

  • With a flat, stiff brush, pat the same shade over the lower lid.
  • Darken the outer corner of the eye with Aphrodite from the palette or Americano and sweep into the crease brining it onto the inner 1/3 of the eye.
  • Pick up a small amount of Mars (or Simply Marlena and Bitten) and use to buff out any lines in the crease.
  • Wipe off your brush and use Frappe to help feather out any lines and add more warmth to the look.
  • Smoke the same red shades on the lower lash line coming in all the way.
  • Darken the lower lash line with Aphrodite or Americano with a small detail brush.
  • Pat Luna or Starry Eyed over the center of the lower lid making sure to blend out the edges.
  • With your finger, add a hint of Artemis or Rapunzel directly on the center of the lid and place under the highest point of your brow.
  • Line the upper and lower waterlines with Obsidian and add a set of full lashes.
  • Pair it with a pink nude lip and you have a gorgeous, vibrant look.

  • Using a combination of Bitten and Simply Marlena, place the colors on the outer 1/3 of the eye coming up past the crease.
  • Wipe off your brush and sweep Sora or Cocoa Bear into the crease and buffing out using Beaches and Cream.
  • Use a small dome brush and place Aphrodite on the outer v of the eye and blend inward.
  • Go back with the original brush and colors, and brush on the lower lid where the Aphrodite (or Americano) leaves off to blend out any harsh lines.
  • Pat Luna from the palette or Whimsical over the lower lid staying below the crease colors.
  • Smudge Aphrodite or Americano on the lower lash line coming in 1/2 way followed by Frappe or Cocoa Bear.
  • Use a soft fluffy brush and Beaches and Cream and use to buff out the lower lash line and around the eye for a softer look.
  • Line the outer 1/2 of the upper lash line with Obsidian and soften using a smudge brush and Aphrodite (or Americano).
  • Line the lower waterline as well.
  • Pick up your flat brush and gently pat Halo over the Luna (or Whimsical).
  • Finish the eyes by adding Huda’s “Giselle” #1 lashes.
  • Contour the cheeks with Makeup Geek’s Contour Powders.
  • Add color with our blush in Romance and highlight with Becca’s Champagne Pop.
  • Top off the look with a nice mauve lip for a stunning spring look.

Sweet and rich just like caramel, this is ideal for adding a hint of color to your look and is easy to recreate making it even sweeter.

Products Used: Makeup Geek Duochrome Shadows in Havoc, Secret Garden, Steampunk, Makeup Geek Eye Shadow in Desert Sands

Other Products Needed: Makeup Geek Eye Shadow in Shimma Shimma

  • Sweep Desert Sands into the crease with a fluffy brush blending upward and out.
  • Pat Havoc over the lower lid coming to past the crease slightly and blend out any lines with the brush you used for Desert Sands.
  • Smudge Secret Garden on the lower lash line coming in all the way.
  • Smoke out the lower lash line with Steampunk,
  • Line the upper lash line with Secret Garden creating a small winged edge.
  • Add a touch of Shimma Shimma to the inner corner.
  • Finish by adding a set of lashes, here the artist used Ardell’s in #101
