Idea Gallery Round-Up: January 2016

Welcome to 2016 and the first installment of our Idea Gallery Round-Up for the year. What an amazing start to what we know is going to be an exciting and fabulous year! If January is any indication of how impressive this year’s looks are going to be we can’t wait for the rest of the year. From soft washes of glitter, to looks that dare to be bold, this is your “go to” for when you crave something new and exciting. Keep your eye open, our new SPARKLERS make quite the appearance.

NUDE GLITTER BY MELADY

  • Sweep Frappe in the crease with a fluffy brush.
  • Wipe off your brush and blend out any lines with Crème Brulee.
  • Use a smaller dome brush and darken the crease with Cocoa Bear.
  • Pat Latte on the lower lid staying below the crease.
  • Darken the outer v with Corrupt and smudge the color under the eye coming in all the way.
  • Smoke out the lower lash line with Latte.
  • Line the upper and lower waterlines with Immortal.
  • Gently pat Satellite over the inner 1/2 of the lower lid.
  • Line the upper lash line with Immortal creating a winged edge.
  • Add a touch of Afterglow on the inner corner of the eye and add tapered lashes.

WINE SHINE BY DIAMANTE MAKE UP

Products Used: Makeup Geek Eye Shadows in Cherry Cola, Crème Brulee, Petal Pusher, Unexpected, Vanilla Bean, Vintage, White Lies, Makeup Geek Sparklers in Halo, Milky Way

Other Products Needed: Makeup Geek Gel Liner in Immortal

  • Feather Crème Brulee into the crease with a fluffy brush.
  • Pat White Lies over the inner 1/3 of the lower lid coming up to the crease.
  • Wipe off your brush and pat Petal Pusher over the center of the lid.
  • Darken the outer corner of the eye with Vintage.
  • Use Unexpected in the crease to blend out any harsh lines.
  • Go back with Crème Brulee and feather out any lines.
  • Smudge Cherry Cola under the outer 1/2 of the lower lash line followed by Petal Pusher bringing it in all the way.
  • Pat glitter glue over the White Lies and gently pat Halo over it.
  • Smudge Milky Way on the inner corner of the lower lash line.
  • Pat Vintage over the lower waterline or use any wine colored liner.
  • Line the upper lash line with Immortal creating a winged edge.
  • Complete the look by adding a set of lashes.

FALL GREEN BY BULINESKA

Make everyone around you green with envy with this sparkling look we love. The bold green pairs beautifully with the warm gold of Karma and is ideal for our brown eyed babes.

  • Pat White Lies over the lower lid staying below the crease.
  • Sweep Latte in the crease making sure to buff our any harsh lines.
  • Wipe off your brush and go in with Mai Tai and use above the crease.
  • Darken the outer 1/3 f the eye with Corrupt and smudge under the outer 1/3 of the lower lash line.
  • Pat a glitter glue over the White Lies.
  • Gently press Martian over the white keeping it sheer on the inner 1/3 and building it up to a more opaque finish on the center of the eye.
  • Smudge Karma under the inner 1/2 of the lower lash line where the Corrupt leaves off.
  • Line the upper lash line as well and the upper and lower waterlines creating a extended “beak” on the inner corner.
  • Use a set of wispy lashes ad soft pink lip for a dazzling look.

  • Sweep Cupcake into the crease blending the color upward and out.
  • Pat Cocoa Bear on the inner and outer 1/3 of the eye and connect in the crease.
  • Go back with your fluffy brush and buff out any lines.
  • Pat Peach Smoothie over the center of the lid.
  • Gently pat New Year’s Eve over the center of the lid.
  • Line the upper and lower waterlines with Immortal allowing it to smudge slightly under the eye.
  • Smoke out the black on the lower lash line with Cupcake.
  • Line the upper lash line with Immortal creating a dramatic wing.
  • Add drama with a set of feathery lashes and a rose lip.

  • Pat Cocoa Bear on the lower lid coming up slightly past the crease.
  • Smudge the same shade on the lower lash line coming in to where your lashes begin and smoke out using a clean brush.
  • Use a fluffy brush and sweep Morocco into the crease buffing out any lines.
  • Wipe off your brush and use Chickadee to blend the Morocco making sure to feather out any lines.
  • Place White Lies under the brow as your highlight and on the inner corner.
  • Pat a dusting of Asteroid over the lower lid coming up to meet with the Morocco and pat on the lower lash line keeping it close to the lashes.
  • Line the upper lash line with Immortal and add a set of soft, delicate lashes.

Heat up the night with this warm look that showcases one of our most beloved foiled shadows.

Products Used: Makeup Geek Eye Shadows in Bling (You can substitute Shimma Shimma) Morocco, Poppy, Sorbet, Makeup Geek Foiled Shadows in Flame Thrower and In The Spotlight

Other Products Needed: Makeup Geek Sparkler in Solar Flare

  • Using windshield wiper motions, sweep Morocco into the crease and buff upward and out.
  • Pick up Poppy and use above the Morocco to blend out any lines.
  • Go in with Sorbet and blend out any lines from the Poppy.
  • Use Bling (Or Shimma Shimma) under the brow as your highlight.
  • Pat Flame Thrower over the lower lid coming up to the crease.
  • Go back and blend out any lines in the crease. (You want a smooth gradient effect from one shade to the next.
  • Smudge Poppy on the lower lash line and use Sorbet to smoke the color out.
  • Add a touch of In The Spotlight to the inner corner of the eye.
  • Gently pat glitter glue over the center of the lower lid.
  • Use a flat, stiff brush and place Solar Flare (or any coppery shade over the center of the lid.
  • Add a set of wispy lashes and coat the bottom lashes with a great mascara.

FOREST GREEN SMOKEY EYE BY ANAIZ AVALOS

Working together in perfect harmony, this smoky green eye adds a hint of gold glitter to create a dazzling look you will love.

  • Sweep Chickadee in the crease as your transition shade.
  • Go in with Desert Sands and buff our any lines blending upward.
  • Combine Shore Thing and Boo Berry and pat over the lower lid.
  • Darken the outer 1/3 of the eye with a combination of Dirty Martini and Enchanted Forest brining the color into the crease.
  • Go back with you fluffy brush and blend out any crease lines.
  • Gently pat a small amount of glitter glue over the green and place Asteroid over the glue.
  • Once again combine Shore Thing and Boo Berry and smudge under the lower lash line.
  • Smoke out the lower lash line using Desert Sands.
  • Add a pop of Voltage on the inner corner of the eye.
  • Line the upper and lower waterlines as well as the upper lash line creating a winged edge.
  • Finish by adding a set of dramatic lashes.

SPARKLE SMOKY BY DIAMANTE MAKE UP

Simple and elegant with just a hint of glitter, it’s the perfect look for when you want something more than just your normal smoke eye.

Products Used: Makeup Geek Eye Shadows in Corrupt, Ice Queen, White Lies, Crème Brulee, Vanilla Bean, Americano, Latte, Purely Naked, Makeup Geek Sparkler in Satellite

Other Products Needed: Makeup Geek Gel Liner in Immortal

  • Feather Crème Brulee into the crease with a fluffy brush.
  • Bend out any lines using Vanilla Bean.
  • Pat Purely Naked over the outer 3/4 of the lower lid.
  • Wipe off your brush and pat a combination of Ice Queen and White Lies over the inner 1/3 of the eye brining the color into the inner crease slightly.
  • Darken the outer 1/2 of the crease with Latte and go back in with your fluffy brush and blend out any lines.
  • Using a smaller dome brush, darken the outer 1/3 of the crease with Americano.
  • Add depth to the eye by placing Corrupt in the outer v.
  • Smudge Corrupt under the eye coming in all the way.
  • Smoke out the lower lash line with Americano and then Crème Brulee.
  • Line the upper and lower waterlines with Immortal as well as the upper lash line creating a winged edge.
  • Pat a small amount of Satellite over the center of the eye and add lashes for the perfect delicate look.

ARIES GLITTERED FIRE BY LILZ TRUEMAN

Inspired by Zodiac sign “Aries” this combines all the characteristics that the fire and boldness that they are known for.

Products Used: Makeup Geek Eye Shadow in Mocha, Peach Smoothie, Cocoa Bear, Corrupt

Other Products Needed: Makeup Geek Foiled Shadows in Untamed, Flame Thrower, Makeup Geek Eye Shadow in Bitten, Makeup Geek Sparkler in Asteroid, Makeup Geek Gel Liner in Immortal

  • Place Peach Smoothie into the crease as your transition shade.
  • Pat Untamed over the lower lid coming up past the crease.
  • Sweep a combination of Latte and Cocoa Bear into the crease to blend out the gold and use to darken the outer edge of the eye.
  • Line the upper lash line creating a winged edge as well as the inner and outer 1/3 of the lower lash line creating a “beak” on the inner corner.
  • Smudge Corrupt under the lower lash line coming in to where your lashes begin.
  • Use Bitten to smoke out the Corrupt. (You may have to go back in with a small detail brush and Corrupt and darken the lower lash line keeping the color close to the lashes.)
  • Use a small smudge brush and place Flame Thrower on the lower lash line where the Bitten left off coming in under the “beak”.
  • Pat a very small amount of Asteroid on the outer edge of the lower lash line and add a set of dramatic lashes.

  • Sweep Crème Brulee into the crease with a fluffy brush.
  • Gently pat Cherry Cola on the inner and outer 1/3 of the lower lid.
  • Go back in with your fluffy brush and blend out any excess lines in the crease.
  • Pat Mai Tai on the center of the lid.
  • Smudge Morocco under the eye coming in all the way and smoke out using Crème Brulee.
  • Darken the outer v of the eye along with the outer corner of the lower lash line with Corrupt.
  • Line the upper and lower waterlines with Immortal.
  • Pat a small amount of Satellite over the center of the lid where you placed Mai Tai.
  • Now all that’s left to do is add some soft, flirty lashes.
  • To top the look off, the artist here used MAC’s Stone lipstick.

  • Begin by sweeping Peach Smoothie into your crease as your transition shade.
  • Use a small, stiffer brush and darken the crease with Cocoa Bear.
  • Go back and buff out any lines using Crème Brulee and then Peach Smoothie.
  • Pat Colour Pop’s Porter, or Makeup Geek’s Burlesque over the lower lid staying below the crease.
  • Use a small brush and pat Bitten along the upper lash line to darken it slightly.
  • Smudge Colour Pop’s Hammered or Makeup Geek’s Envy on the lower lash line coming in all the way and smoke out using Cocoa Bear.
  • Pat the same green shade over the lower water line.
  • Add a touch of Colour Pop’s Game Face or Makeup Geek’s Flame Thrower to the inner corner of the eye.
  • Darken the outer v of the eye with Corrupt.
  • Add a set of long lashes, here the artist used Koko Lashes in Bella.

  • Go back with Crème Brulee and buff out any excess lines.
  • Smudge Corrupt on the lower lash line keeping the color close to the lashes and gently smoke out using a small amount of Bitten. (You want the black to be more sheer on this look.)
  • Line the upper lash line with Immortal creating dramatic wing.
  • Use a small detail brush and pat a glitter adhesive over the winged liner.
  • Gently pat Utopia over the adhesive.
  • Use a liquid liner to go back and clean up the lines making them sharp and allowing the black to outline the glitter.
  • Add a touch of Shimma Shimma to the inner corner.
  • To top off the look, add a set of soft lashes as not to take away from the winged liner.

  • Pat Fantasy over the center of the lid and on the inner corner of the eye.
  • Use Makeup Geek’s Immortal or NYX Eyeliner in Black to create a winged line on the upper lash line.
  • Add you favorite lashes and you have a look that will make others green with envy. 🙂

  • Pat High Wire over the center of the lower lid making sure to blend where the two shades meet.
  • Line the upper and lower waterlines with Immortal and smudge under the eye as well.
  • Smoke out the lower lash line with Petal Pusher.
  • Add a pop of Phantom on the inner corner with Whimsical on top.
  • Finish by adding a set of tapered lashes and a small line of Immortal to the upper lash line.

  • Smudge Corrupt along the lower lash line and smoke out using a touch of Cocoa Bear and Poppy.
  • Line the upper and lower waterlines with Immortal as well as the upper lash line creating a dramatic wing.
  • Add Ice Queen under the brow as your highlight and on the inner corner along with a set of dramatic lashes.

  • Add a touch of Asteroid over the inner corner of the eye.
  • Top it off with soft, wispy lashes and a peach nude lip.

  • Pat Blacklight over the lower lid coming up slightly below the crease.
  • Darken the outer corner of the eye with Motown and bring the color into the crease.
  • Use Poppy to buff out the Motown above the crease with a fluffy brush.
  • Wipe off your brush and feather out any lines with Bliss.
  • Smudge Poppy under the eye coming in to where your lashes begin.
  • Smoke out the lower lash line with Bliss and add a pop of Shimma Shimma to the inner corner and under your brow as your highlight.
  • Add a set of wispy lashes to finish.

  • Pat Enchanted Forest over the inner and outer 1/3 of the lower lid and connect in the crease.
  • Use a fluffy brush and Dirty Martini to blend out any lines buffing upward slightly.
  • Use Baby Face to feather out any extra lines and under your brow as your highlight.
  • Pat Starry Eyed over the center of the lid coming up past the crease.
  • Smudge Enchanted Forest on the inner and outer 1/3 of the lower lash line and smoke out just slightly with Dirty Martini.
  • Gently pat Starry Eyed on the center of the lower lid and finish by adding a set of soft lashes.

METALLIC MERMAID HALO EYE BY KATIE SACCOMANNO

Keep the shadows the star of your look with this mermaid inspired makeup.  A fresh twist on a traditional smoky eye, this offers tons of stunning color.

Products Used: Makeup Geek Duochrome Eye Shadow in Typhoon, Makeup Geek Eye Shadow in Boo Berry, Corrupt, Dragonfly, Enchanted Forest, Peach Smoothie, White Lies

Other Products Needed: Makeup Geek Sparkler in Asteroid, Makeup Geek Duochrome in Voltage

  • Begin by highlighting your brow bone with White Lies.
  • Sweep Peach Smoothie into the crease as your transition shade.
  • Work Dragonfly into the crease and on the inner and outer 1/3 of the eye.
  • Use a smaller dome brush and place Boo Berry over the Dragonfly focusing the majority of the color on the inner and outer edges.
  • Go back with the larger dome brush and blend the shades together.
  • Use a combination of Enchanted Forest and Corrupt, and a very small crease brush, to darken the inner and outer corners.
  • Mix Boo Berry and Dragonfly to buff out any lines in the crease.
  • This step is optional, but to draw out the blues in the duochrome, go in with a teal base and pat on the center of the lid. (Maybelline Color Tattoo in Tenacious Teal would be perfect.)
  • Use a flat stiff brush, or your finger and pat over the center of the lid.
  • Go back and darken the outer corner with Corrupt and Enchanted Forest.
  • Use the same teal base (the Maybelline Color Tattoo or any teal liner) and line the upper waterline.
  • Line the lower water line with a teal liner. (Here the artist used Colour Pop’s “Fast Lane”.)
  • Smudge Dragonfly and Enchanted Forest on the lower lash line.
  • Pat a glitter glue over the center of the lid followed by a touch of glitter.
  • Add Voltage to the inner corner of the eye and under the highest point of your brow.
  • Use a liquid liner and line the upper lash line keeping the line tight to the lashes and add a set of wispy lashes.
