Idea Gallery Round-Up: February 2016

It’s time for another installment of our Idea Gallery Round-Up. This is where we take some of the most loved looks and combine them into one place where you can come to be inspired by all the color and creativity our Makeup Geeks have to offer. No matter what you are looking for you will find it here, from sultry and dramatic, bold and colorful or classic and elegant, there is no shortage of remarkable ideas for you to add to your arsenal of makeup looks.

Under each image we have included the tips and tricks for recreating the look. Also, if there is a video tutorial that accompanies the look we will link it for you at the bottom of the individual look. SMOKY SATELLITE BY SHANNELSMAKEUPLOOKS

Easy to recreate and full of all the depth and drama we adore with just a hint of glitter to make it sparkle.

Products Used: Makeup Geek Eye Shadows in Bada BingCocoa Bear, Corrupt, Makeup Geek Sparkler in Satellite

  • With a fluffy brush, gently sweep Cocoa Bear in the crease buffing upward and out.
  • Use a smaller dome brush and place Bada Bing in the crease to add depth and smudge on the lower lash line connecting it to the crease. (You want a sort of rounded edge).
  • Go back in with your fluffy brush and feather out any lines from the Bada Bing.
  • Pat Corrupt on the lower lid coming up slightly past the crease.
  • Use a small detail brush and place Corrupt under the eye keeping the color close to the lashes.
  • Smoke out the lower lash line with a clean brush.
  • Pat Corrupt over the lower water line.
  • Gently pat Satellite on the inner corner of the eye.
  • Pat the remaining Satellite over the lower lid staying below the crease.
  • Add a set of dramatic lashes for a head turning look.

It seems everyone has fallen in love with our collaboration with Manny MUA and we completely understand why. We can’t wait to see more looks using this incredible palette. (We understand not everyone has this palette so we will list some alternatives where we can).

Products Used: Makeup Geek/Manny MUA Palette

Makeup Geek Alternatives: Bitten, Simply Marlena, Americano, Shimma Shimma, Makeup Geek Gel Liner in Immortal

  • Sweep Beaches and Cream through the crease with a soft blending brush as your transition shade. (B&C is part of our permanent collection)
  • With a slightly smaller brush, gently buff Frappe into the crease to add depth. (Frappe is part of our permanent collection)
  • Using Mars from the Manny Palette or a combination of Bitten and Simply Marlena, pat the shades on the inner and outer 1/3 of the eye and connect in the crease. (Mars is exclusive to the Manny palette, Bitten and Simply Marlena are part of the permanent collection)
  • Go back in with Frappe and buff out any harsh lines above the crease.
  • Take Aphrodite from the palette or Americano and a pointed crease brush and darken the inner and outer 1/3 of the eye as well as the crease. (Aphrodite is exclusive to the Manny palette, Americano is part of the permanent collection)
  • Use a small flat, stiff brush (lip brushes work great) and pat Insomnia and pat over the center of the eye. For a more intense color payoff use your finger. (Pressed Insomnia is exclusive to the palette but we have it in a lose pigment)
  • Use Mars or a combination of Bitten and Simply Marlena and smudge on the lower lash line.
  • With a detail brush, smudge Aphrodite or Americano on the lower lash line keeping the color close to the lashes.
  • Highlight the inner corner of the eye with Artemis from the palette or Shimma Shimma. (Artemis is exclusive to the palette)
  • Line the upper and lower waterlines of the eye with Immortal.
  • Apply a set of lashes, here the artist used Vegas Nay’s Lashes by Eylure in Grand Glamor.

ONE LAST DANCE BY DIAMANTE MAKE UP

Bright hues of blues and purples team up for a dramatic colorful look you are sure to love. Perfect for anyone who craves color!

Products Used: Maekup Geek Eye Shadows in Corrupt, Motown, Neptune, White Lies, Wisteria, Makeup Geek Foiled Shadows in in Caitlin Rose, Center Stage, High Wire, Makeup Geek Sparkler in Milky Way

Other Products Needed: Makeup Geek Eye Shadows in Crème Brulee, Mocha, Makeup Geek Gel Liner in Immortal

  • Sweep Crème Brulee into the crease with a fluffy brush blending the color upward and out.
  • Darken the crease with Mocha and go back with Crème Brulee buffing away any edges.
  • Pat Neptune over the lower lid coming in a little over 1/2 the way staying below the crease.
  • Place Motown over the outer 1/3 of the eye and sweep the color into the crease coming in 1/2 the way.
  • Use a flat, stiff brush and pat Center Stage over the center of the lid staying below the crease.
  • Wipe off your brush and place Caitlin Rose over the inner 1/3 of the lid.
  • Use a small fluffy brush and sweep Wisteria on the inner 1/2 of the crease to buff out any lines.
  • Wipe off your brush and buff out the rest of the crease with Motown. (You may need to go back and touch up the Mocha and Crème Brulee).
  • Darken the outer v of the eye with Corrupt.
  • Smudge Center Stage under the eye coming in to where your lashes begin.
  • Smoke out the lower lash line with Wisteria followed by Crème Brulee.
  • Smudge High Wire on the rest of the lower lash line where the Center Stage ended.
  • Gently pat a lash glue over the High Wire followed by Makeup Geek’s Sparkler in Milky Way.
  • Add a touch of White Lies to the inner corner of the eye.
  • Line the upper and lower waterlines with Immortal as well as the upper lash line creating a winged edge.
  • Finish off by adding a set of tapered lashes.

  • Sweep Petal Pusher into the crease with a fluffy brush as your transition shade.
  • Darken the outer 1/3 of the lid with Curfew and sweep into the outer 1/2 of the crease.
  • Go back with your fluffy brush and Carnival and buff out any harsh lines.
  • Wipe off your brush and feather out any lines with Confection for a smooth, seamless look.
  • Pat Starry Eyed over the rest of the lower lid staying below the crease.
  • Smudge Carnival on the lower lash line coming in to where your lashes begin.
  • Line the upper lash line with Immortal creating a winged edge and extending liner into the inner tear duct of the eye.
  • Darken the outer v of the eye with Corrupt smoking out the outer 1/2 of the liner with the same black.
  • Add depth to the lower lash line by placing Corrupt on the outer 1/2 staying close to the lashes.
  • Place Starry Eyed on the lower lash line where the Carnival left off.
  • Top it off with a set of wispy, long lashes for a sweet treat of a look.

I’M PEACHLESS BY ALICJA WITZA

Sweet as a Georgia peach, this classic look uses one of our favorite duochromes to add a stunning shift to the eye.

Other Products Needed: Makeup Geek Gel Liner in Immortal

  • Buff Peach Smoothie into the crease with a fluffy blending brush as your transition shade.
  • Darken the outer v of the eye with Bada Bing in a the shape of a cat eye.
  • Sweep what’s left on the brush into the outer 1/2 of the crease.
  • Go in with Beaches and Cream and buff out any lines blending upward.
  • Pat I’m Peachless over the lower lid coming up slightly past the crease.
  • Smudge Bada Bing on the lower lash line coming in to where your lashes begin.
  • Line the upper lash line with Immortal creating a slight winged edge.
  • Add a pop of Shimma Shimma to the inner corner and on the inner part of the lower lash line.
  • For a day look simply curl your lashes and add mascara, to amp up your look for night add a set of your favorite lashes.

  • Wipe off your brush and place Crème Brulee into the crease buffing upward and out.
  • Darken the crease with a smaller brush and Cocoa Bear.
  • Pat Wisteria over the lower lid coming up slightly past the crease.
  • Darken the outer v of the eye with Corrupt.
  • Go back with your fluffy brush and blend out any harsh lines.
  • Smudge Corrupt on the lower lash line extending into a straight line from the edge of the lashes.
  • Smoke out the lower lash line with Cocoa Bear
  • Add a touch of Shimma Shimma to the inner corner.
  • To finish, add a set of long fluffy lashes.

  • Use a smaller dome brush and accentuate the crease with Frappe. (Frappe is part of the permanent collection).
  • Gently place a Mars or a combination of Bitten and Simply Marlena on the outer edge of the and buff into the crease. (Mars is exclusive to the Manny MUA Palette, Bitten and Simply Marlena are part of the permanent collection).
  • Go back with Crème Brulee and blend out any lines.
  • Darken the outer edge of the eye with Aphrodite or Americano. (Aphrodite is exclusive to the Manny MUA palette, Americano is part of the permanent collection).
  • With a flat stiff brush, pat Cosmopolitan over the lower lid. (This shade is part of the permanent collection).
  • Wipe off your brush and pat Artemis or Rapunzel over the center of the lower lid. (Artemis is exclusive to the Manny MUA palette, Rapunzel is part of the permanent collection).
  • Again, wipe off your brush and pat Luna from the Manny palette or Mesmerized over the lower lid. (Luna is exclusive to the Manny MUA palette, Mesmerized is part of our permanent collection).
  • Use a clean fluffy brush to make sure everything is blended seamlessly.
  • Smudge Sora or Crème Brulee on the lower lash line and darken with Aphrodite or Americano.
  • Use a touch of Artemis or Rapunzel on the inner corner of the eye.
  • Line the upper lash line with Immortal creating a small winged edge.
  • Add a set of great lashes, here the artist used House of Lashes in “Iconic”.
  • Coat the bottom lashes with mascara and pair with soft peach cheeks and a brown lip.

  • Pat Afterglow on the center of the lid and smudge on the inner 1/3 of the lower lash line.
  • Line the upper lash line with Immortal keeping the color close to the lashes and use to darken the outer edge of the lower lash line.
  • Line the upper and lower waterlines and add a set of soft, wispy lashes to tie everything together.

It seems everyone is ready for some warm weather and even warmer looks. This uses one of our amazing duochromes to add an extra touch of dimension.

Products Used: Makeup Geek Eye Shadows in Americano, Beaches and Cream, Morocco, Makeup Geek Duochrome Eye Shadow in Karma

Other Products Needed: Makeup Geek Gel Liner in Immortal

  • Begin by using a small detail brush and Americano and trace the natural crease of your eye.
  • Turn the brush on its side and drag the color upward slightly.
  • Go in with a small fluffy brush and blend the color out gently.
  • Go in with Morocco and buff the color above the crease blending upward and out.
  • Use a clean brush and Beaches and Cream to buff out any harsh lines.
  • Go back in and touch up the crease line if necessary.
  • With a flat, stiff brush, pat Karma over the lower lid using the edge of the brush to trace under the crease line. (It’s very important to keep Karma below the cut crease).
  • Smudge Americano under the eye coming in all the way and smoke out with Morocco.
  • Line the upper lash line with Immortal creating thick, dramatic winged edge.
  • Line the upper and lower waterlines and add a set of wispy lashes to complete the look.

SOFT PURPLE & SHINE BY ANNATEKIELA

  • Sweep Romance into the crease of the eye, this will work as your transition shade. (You can also use any soft pink shadow you have).
  • Pat Wisteria over the outer 1/3 of the lid sweeping the color into the crease.
  • Go back in with your fluffy brush you used to place Romance and buff out any harsh lines.
  • Use a smaller detail brush and darken the outer v of the eye with Iridescent Purple from the Anastasia Amrezy Palette or Makeup Geek’s Motown. Use the color to trace the natural crease of the eye.
  • Buff out any lines from the crease with Wisteria.
  • Pat MAC’s Nylon or Makeup Geek’s Rapunzel over the lower lid staying below the crease.
  • Use the same shade to highlight under your brow.
  • Smudge Topaz from the Amrezy palette or Makeup Geek’s Pretentious under the eye coming in all the way.
  • Gently smudge Utopia under the eye keeping the color closer to the lashes.
  • Add a pop of White Lies or Vanilla from the Amrezy palette to the inner corner of the eye.
  • Use a purple gel liner of your choice and create a winged line on the upper lash line.
  • To intensify the purple impact, add a set of purple lashes. Ardell’s Color Impact Wispies in Plum would be ideal!

  • Smudge Jester on the lower lash line smoking the color out.
  • Add a pop of Shimma Shimma to the inner corner of the eye and under your brow as your highlight.
  • Now all that’s left to do is line the upper and lower waterlines with Immortal and add a set of great lashes.

  • Line the upper lash line with Immortal keeping the color close to the lashes.
  • Apply a small amount on the outer 1/3 of the lower lash line keeping it close to the lashes as well.

  • Darken the outer v of the eye  with Americano and use Wisteria to buff out any lines.
  • Smudge Americano on the outer 1/2 of the lower lash line followed by Wisteria and pat over the lower waterline as well.
  • Pat Zodiac over the inner and outer 1/3 of the lower lid. (You may need to go back and touch up Voltage in the center of the lid).
  • Add a touch of I’m Peachless to the inner corner of the eye.
  • Line the upper lash line with Immortal creating a winged edge and finish with a set of natural lashes.

  • Begin by using a small detail brush and Mocha and trace the natural curve of the crease extending the color into a cat eye up toward the end of the brow.
  • Turn the brush on its side and drag the color upward slightly.
  • Go in with a fluffy brush and Latte and blend out any lines from the crease.
  • Wipe of your brush and go in with Break Up can use to buff out any lines from the Latte and blend upward coming in all the way. (You may have to go in with Mocha and touch up you original crease line).
  • Gently pat Magic Act over the lower lid making sure to stay below the crease.
  • Smudge Corrupt on the lower lash line and smoke out using Mocha and then Latte.
  • Line the upper lash line with Immortal creating winged edge leaving a space between the wing and the cut crease.
  • Add a touch of a Magic Act to the inner corner, add lashes and some bold red lips for a classic stunning look.

  • Use a smaller dome brush and accentuate the crease with Cocoa Bear.
  • Darken the outer 1/3 of the eye with Bitten and sweep lightly into the crease blending out any lines.
  • Add Americano to the outer v of the eye for depth.
  • Pat Mai Tai over the lower lid staying below the crease colors.
  • Add Shimma Shimma over the center of the lid and under the arch of your brow.
  • Smudge Americano on the outer 1/3 of the lower lash line and smoke out using Cocoa Bear, then Crème Brulee.
  • Add a touch of Shimma Shimma to the inner corner of the eye.
  • Line the upper lash line with Immortal creating a wing at the edge.
  • Top the look off with a set of wispy lashes, warm peach cheeks and nude lips.

  • Buff Peach Smoothie into the crease as a transition shade.
  • Wipe off your brush and sweep Desert Sands into the crease blending out any lines left behind.
  • Pat Caitlin Rose over the lower lid staying below the crease.
  • Feather out any lines in the crease with your fluffy brush and Wisteria keeping the color close to the crease.
  • Smudge Wisteria under the eye coming in to where your lashes begin and smoke the color out.
  • Darken the outer edge of the lower lash line with Caitlin Rose.
  • Pat a small amount of Day Dreamer over the center of the lid followed by a small amount of Phantom.
  • Add Day Dreamer to the inner corner of the eye.
  • Smudge Lemon Drop on the lower lash line where the purple left off and bring in to the inner corner of the eye.
  • Add a set of wispy lashes and mascara to the bottom lashes.
  • Contour the cheeks with Makeup Geek’s Contour Powder in Break Up followed up with Bliss blush.

  • Apply your favorite bright purple and gently pat Phantom over the center of the upper and bottom lip for a bold finish.

ICE QUEEN BY REBECCA SEALS

Strong, bold and cunning, this is perfect for the Queen herself. Sure to melt hearts everywhere, this glimmering look is the ideal look for the dance floor or a holiday event.

Products Used: MAC Reflects Gold Pigment, Makeup Geek Eye Shadows in Mermaid, Makeup Geek Foiled Shadow in Center Stage, House of Lashes “Ice Queen” Lashes

Other Products Needed: Makeup Geek Eye Shadows in Ice Queen, Glass Slipper, Makeup Geek Sparkler in Meteor Shower, Stargazer

  • With a flat, stiff brush, pat Center Stage on the inner and outer 1/3 of the lower lid and connect in the crease.
  • Smudge the same shade on the inner and outer 1/3 of the lower lash line.
  • Use a fluffy brush and sweep Mermaid in the crease to blend out any lines from the Center Stage.
  • Wipe off your brush and go in with Glass Slipper and use to blend out any excess lines.
  • With a clean brush, place White Lies under the brow as your highlight and to buff out any lines from the Glass Slipper.
  • Pat Ice Queen over the center of the lid and the lower lash line.
  • Use a small amount of glitter adhesive and pat over the center of lid coming upward toward the arch of the brow. (In a triangle shape).
  • Pat the same glue over the center of the lower lash line going downward into an upside down triangle.
  • Use Makeup Geek’s Sparklers in Meteor Shower or Stargazer and pat over the glue.
  • Finish by adding White Lies to the inner corner of the eye.
  • Coat the bottom lashes in mascara and apply House of Lashes in “Ice Queen”. (Any glitter lashes will work).
  • Keep the rest of the face neutral so the eyes truly POP or add a bold blue lip, contoured cheek with blue blush and silver highlight.

Products Used: Makeup Geek Eye Shadows in Cocoa Bear, Corrupt, Crème Brulee, Peach Smoothie, Shimma Shimma, Makeup Geek Foiled Shadow in Charmed

  • With a fluffy brush, sweep Peach Smoothie as your transition shade.
  • Go in with a smaller dome brush and Crème Brulee and darken the crease.
  • Wipe off your brush and use Cocoa Bear to deepen the crease more.
  • Pat Charmed on the lower lid. (To really make this color pop, use a white base like the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk under it).
  • Go back with your fluffy brush and blend out any crease lines.
  • Darken the outer v with Corrupt.
  • Smudge Corrupt on the lower lash line keeping the color on the outer part of the eye and pat over the lower waterline also.
  • Smoke out the lower lash line with Crème Brulee.
  • Add a set of tapered, long lashes and gently pat Corrupt along the upper lash line to help cover the lash band.
  • Add a pop of Shimma Shimma to the inner corner to finish.
